Your planning and ERP systems are only as reliable as the inventory data behind them. Yet maintaining accurate inventory records continues to be a challenge for many organizations.

In Part 2 of Inventory Best Practices, we move from inventory management fundamentals to the practices required to improve and sustain inventory record accuracy.

This Lunch & Learn will examine inventory accuracy as an operational discipline—not simply a counting exercise. Participants will explore the causes of inventory discrepancies and the importance of education and training, transaction discipline, physical controls, system visibility, and real-time data capture.

A major focus will be cycle counting: how it can be used not only to measure inventory record accuracy, but also to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, take corrective action, and prevent the same errors from recurring. The session will also discuss practical steps for getting started, including establishing a control group, developing policies and procedures, training employees on both the “why” and the “how,” and progressing toward a sustainable cycle-counting program.
